For some years now, it has become a common practice for marketers, webmasters, companies and organised individuals to using social sites as a medium for collecting information, engaging their audience and gathering information for strategic marketing plans.


The experience has been beautiful for some while some still wander about the logic behind how to efficiently using the social media for marketing purposes.



Here, I have chosen to discuss few but crucial from the many tactics you can use to gaining more leads from your social media so that it may help boost your marketing efforts.


Six Simple Tactics that Improves Social Media Engagement

In life, everything is easy to do and you can actually catch fun in doing virtually everything except things you do not know how to do and those you don't enjoy doing.

Of course, virtually everybody knows how to sign up for Facebook or twitter, add up friends or followers and start busting series of posts but, as an experienced marketer, you should learn the proper way of doing it rather than lame.

Below here, I reveal six logics you can apply to make use of social media as a pro rather than a lame so as to gaining more leads, likes, followers and attention.


1- Front-Loading Method: this method is especially useful when you are trying to call the attention of your targeted audience to an action. Front-Loading simply means putting your important keywords/points first in your posts and updates.

Example;
Don't say: Check out Swappa here... Swappa is a market place where you get cheap phones.
But say: Market place where you get cheap phones is Swappa. Check out Swappa here.

Front-Loading your updates will always help your audience grab the key of your content at first sight and will also ensure that you receive the best possible click-through.


2- Be Creative And Rational: most social media users always scan through, not giving much attentions to what are being displayed on their timelines and dashboards. In that case, as a pro marketer, you should be as creative and rational as possible as this would help your publications stand out from several others on the timeline.


3- Hash Tags Usage: based on some experimental test results, most social media updates with hashtags receive 3x views more as to the same updates with no hashtags at all.


Hash tag system is still recent in the social media and indeed, a welcomed development. Hash tag is simply used to tag a common word usually; words people most likely search for in your social updates.

Example;
#Marketplace where you get #cheap #phones is Swappa. Check out Swappa here.
In the example above, "Marketplace", "Cheap" and "Phones" are most likely searched for therefore; they are tagged using the "#" sign.

Now, if you or anybody types "#marketplace" on twitter, facebook or Google+, the update above would be listed among the updates with that hash tag and so are for other hash tags, too.
NOTE:Your hash tagged updates appear ONLY where it is published. Your Hash tagged updates published on Twitter will not appear under the hashtag on facebook except that you published the same update on Facebook as well.

4- Posting And Timing: as a pro marketer who knows how to efficiently use the social media and wants to drive more leads to your products and services, it is better to study the time most of your audience are online as that would not only make marketing via social media easier for you but also relief you off most of the stresses of gathering more audience.


If most of your audience see your update(s) and find it appealing enough, they will most likely rebroadcast it for you. As in my case, based on various test results, I have come to understand that more people are on Facebook and twitter between 9pm and 11pm and also, between 8am and 10am. So, these are periods of time I scheduled most of my updates to maximise the advantage of my social media audience.

5- Short URL Usages: it is always better to shorten your URL(s) if your update(s) contains URL. Doing this does not only beautify your updates but also increases the update(s) click-through tendencies.


Besides, it is even rational to shorten your LONG URL and fill up the space with other useful keywords, hash tags and other goodies you might think of.


6- Responses And Engagements: more often than not, most of your audience expect you to respond to their comments. If not immediately, each and every responses should be responded to. It is your duty and also, an opportunity to building a good relationship between you and your audience.

There are tens if not hundreds of ways to improve your social media marketing but, believe me, these are the basics and are very effective if you put them to practice.


I have used these basics to market many products and the results are outrageously good.
